What is NAD?
NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a metabolic co-enzyme found in all cells in the body. Metabolic enzymes are responsible for creating energy in the mitochondria. Healthy NAD levels are necessary for cell repair and tissue re-modeling. As we age, NAD production declines and it’s activity gets weaker. Low levels of NAD are not just associated with aging. NAD deficiency is also linked to symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome.
